Fabricating customized mass products for end users via 3D printing technology is not common practice yet. So far, additive manufacturing mainly produces prototypes for industrial customers. Without direct relations to the end user, the Additive Manufacturer lacks the benefits resulting from this value chain. With a new business concept, these companies could benefit from the value chain of consumer goods. Therefore, this paper will present a concept to integrate small and medium-sized additive manufacturing enterprises into the business processes of individualized consumer goods. The integration will be realized by connecting eCommerce with traditional stationary trade. The focus will be set on the conceptual architecture with required standard workflows on the basis of a business model. The workflow involves standard processes including specific software applications and data exchange which will be explained in this paper, followed by an outlook on opportunities the concept provides.
